Listening to music has by far been the oldest form entertainment. In earlier times when technology hadn't crept into the lives of men, they used to get together after a days work and drank and sang to entertain themselves. Let us go even back in time. Kings across the world had special singers and musicians in their court at their service at all times of the day. Kings in the Indian subcontinent paid huge sums of money as salaries to their musicians. They listened to music everyday after the court work got over. Now coming back to the present, from gramophones, the technology has come to the age iPods and mobile phones which you can use for listening to music. The way we listen to music is extremely dynamic and the technology has been ever changing since the time Sony launched its first portable walkman which could be used for listening to music on the move. Then came the CD players in late 1980s and then the USB player and they paved the way for iPods. iPods have completely changed the way we listen to music on the move. You can store not only music but also store enormous amounts of other data and videos and even complete movies. Unlike the past, with these portable devices you can listen to music while driving or while jogging or while exercising. Now you can even listen to music online. With the Yahoo music in place, it has given an altogetherly new meaning to listening to music online. Now you don't need to download songs like in the past to listen to them, you can simply logon to the internet and listen to latest songs while working. At Yahoo music you can either listen to the free ad supported radio channels or you can listen to the paid ad-free channels. There are numerous channels to choose from. You can listen to music on the channel named 'hard rock' or 'rock of the 1980s' and various others playing an amazing selection of music. Not only this but you can even listen to hundreds of radio channels that have come up on the internet through various websites. These radio channels are just like the normal local radio channels. And one of the older but still a popular choice for listening to music is WorldSpace radio. By paying a very small amount of money every month you can listen to scores of music, news and educational channels from all over the world. Truly, the way we listen to music has changed enormously and still continues to change even as you read this. Whatever the technology be, one thing is for sure that most of us can't survive without listening to music.
