'Welcome to the jungle baby'- This line is a starting line from a very famous song of rock music band Guns and Roses. Well it seriously is a jungle out there in the world of rock music. People from all backgrounds have been affected and attracted by rock music. While people highly educated have made their name in the world of rock music, people from criminal background and past too have made name and money. Well rock stars also always been under the scanner of the media and administration because of their association with narcotics. Well I must mention here that though not all those who are rock music players do it but a substantial number of people associated with rock music have often been caught consuming such stuff. A number of highly talented rock music singers and their band members have died due to excessive consumption of illegal drugs, the most famous and recent one being the lead singer and guitarist of the rock music band Nirvana, Kurt Cobain. Though he had millions of fans across the world, most them knew nothing about his health condition. Rock Music has seen a lot of changes since its inception and has
also seen a lot of new offshoots like punk rock, alternative rock, progressive rock, soft rock and many more. Though rock music is believed to have originated in the United Kingdom, it has gained far more popularity in United States. Rock music originally consisted of guitar, drums, piano and even brass. Now it has been reduced to mainly guitars and drums. Even though you might find piano being used in some rock music but the brass is completely out. With rock music came controversies. Though some albums were accredited with helping in reducing tensions between countries, spreading messages against war and requesting for peace and urging people to fight for other social causes, some rock faced the charges of corrupting the minds of the youth. These rock songs were criticized for being responsible for encouraging people to do drugs among other things.
